We developedĀ SMOOVEā¢Ā Universal Chain Lube to be the longest lasting chain lubricant available ā and it is ā but every now and then, your drivetrain needs some proper cleaning and this is whereĀ SMOOVEā¢ PREPĀ comes in.Ā SMOOVEā¢ PREPĀ was developed with special āstuffā (read: lots of technical polymerĀ science stuff) that is specifically formulated to clean, dissolve and neutralizeĀ SMOOVEā¢Ā Universal Chain Lube in just two easy steps.Ā (The fresh natural citrus smell is part of the magic āactive ingredientsā ā our secret!)
USING SMOOVEā¢ PREP WITH A CHAIN CLEANING DEVICE
Fill the device with approximately 25ml of SMOOVEā¢ PREP in order to reach the bottom of the brush wheels. The amount of one application is indicated on the side of the bottle. Most chain devices have a āfill toā line, however, we suggest that you ignore this as one application ofSMOOVEā¢ PREP will be sufficient. Now clip the chain cleaner around the chain as per the manufacturer recommendations. Back pedal until the visible SMOOVEā¢ chain lube is dissolved and make sure that you tilt the chain device slightly so that the brush rollers can collect the remaining cleaning solution. After removing the chain cleaner, use the remaining amount of SMOOVEā¢ PREP with a suitable brush to clean the cassette and chain rings. Finally rinse the chain and drivetrain with sufficient clean water using a hose.
DIRECTIONS FOR MANUAL CLEANING.
Pour 25ml of SMOOVEā¢ PREP in a small bowl. Dip a suitable brush in the solution and scrub the chain and drivetrain components until all visible SMOOVEā¢ chain lube has been dissolved.Ā Finally rinse the chain and drivetrain with sufficient clean water using a hose.
